Wings

Wings, is a stunning multimedia artwork, created by Elly Broadbent.

It reflects an enigmatic flow of movement in the feathers of the wings, layered with the textures of watery marks, pen line and screen-printed features.

This artwork was made after a tragic loss in Elly’s family, and played as a visual comfort before it was created.

Elly visualises her art for a while before enacting on the visons she holds in her mind, creating and processing her artwork in her mind from start to finish. She says her visualisations are a form of therapy, that they serve as mediations. Once she creates her art, she is often surprised by the actuality of her thoughts and is satisfied that her visualisations arrive to their destination on paper.

This artwork comes in a limited edition print.
